Trauma Informed Massage - Meditation - Somatic Practices

What is Biodynamic Rebalancing Massage?

For those of us who have experienced trauma, the body is the very place we learned to disconnect from.

Biodynamic Rebalancing Massage is a holistic bodywork practice combining body-reading, deep connective-tissue massage, joint mobilization, and breath work. ‘Biodynamic' meaning we work with the body's own intelligence and rhythms, rather than imposing change onto it.

At the heart of this technique is one idea: the physical and emotional aren't separate, but are one system constantly interacting and influencing each other. A shift in the body is a shift in how you feel. It's not just the pressure of touch that creates change, but your own awareness. The most lasting shifts happen when you start reconnecting with parts of yourself that have been forgotten.

This unique approach is supported by my ongoing training in Trauma-Informed Somatic Counselling, which I weave through each session as nervous system regulation and mindfulness practices.

My approach as a massage therapist is to tailor these sessions to your specific needs, so we will release tension and reduce pain, whilst also creating more stability in your nervous system which will in turn keep reducing tension in your body over time.

Every session is tailored to what you need. Some of that work is physical — releasing tension, reducing pain. Some of it is about building lasting stability in your nervous system, so your body holds onto that ease long after you leave.

I meet the body with curiosity rather than correction. Instead of asking "what's the problem we need to fix," I ask: what are these symptoms trying to tell us? How can we better support what your body actually needs?

Each session leaves room to set down what you've been carrying, both physically and emotionally. You'll also leave with valuable tools you can use at home to keep regulating your nervous system, and slowly remember that your body is a safe place to reside.

  • "Words cannot describe how talented she is and how she was able to not only address physical pains in my massage but also (I don’t know how she did this) managed to tell me my past traumas and how they’ve been effecting my body. She somehow managed to ask me really specific questions that not a lot of people know and then she herself, take on those feelings. I’ve never experienced anything like this! She is an amazing healer. 10/10 highly recommend!”

  • "I’ve been seeing Ellie regularly for a few years and her treatments are a “non-negotiable” in my life. She understands exactly how my body behaves energetically and helps me get back to a beautiful grounded state regardless of what stresses and emotions have been whirring in my brain. She has helped me through some very challenging times and I recommend her to everyone."
