Integrated Energy Therapy® (IET®)
Healing hardly ever begins by diving straight into the deepest parts of ourselves. For those of us who have experienced trauma or chronic stress, reconnecting deeply with the body can feel scary. The body has become the very place we disconnect from in order to cope and survive. While Mind Body Soul sessions are designed to support that deeper reconnection work, IET offers a softer starting point.
Rather than focusing on bodily awareness, IET® is a more hands-off approach that does not ask you to dive deeply into emotions or bodily sensations. Instead, I simply act as a channel for gentle, supportive energy intended to help lighten the emotional heaviness that stress and difficult experiences leave behind.
These sessions are designed to help you reconnect with the states of calm, peace and safety that do exist within you. Even if you haven’t felt those things in a long time.
WHAT IS INTEGRATED ENERGY THERAPY®?
Integrated Energy Therapy® (IET®) is a powerful yet gentle healing modality. During a session, we work to release suppressed emotions associated with specific organs in the body, in line with principles from Chinese medicine. Once a suppressed emotion has been released, I will then integrate the opposite emotion. For example, anger may be released and forgiveness integrated.
It’s deeply calming, loving, and gentle. If you, or someone you love, is going through a difficult time, IET® sessions can help lighten the load. It’s especially supportive if you would like to begin your healing journey, but currently feel too overwhelmed or not quite ready to dive deeper.
Many clients describe feeling deeply peaceful, and sometimes even a little “trippy” during sessions.
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IET AND REIKI?
Reiki focuses on supporting overall balance, relaxation, and wellbeing. Reiki sessions are generally more non-directive, allowing the energy to flow where it is needed most.
Integrated Energy Therapy® is more focused on emotional energy and emotional release. It works with specific energy centres in the body and is designed to help release suppressed emotions, energetic patterns, and emotional blocks that may be connected to past experiences or stress.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION?
Every session begins with a short check-in, so I can understand how you’re feeling and what may be happening for you in that moment. We can discuss this in whatever depth feels comfortable for you, it’s not necessary for me to know everything, although I am always happy to listen.
From there, you will lie down fully clothed on a massage table. With calming music or a relaxing guided meditation playing in the background (your choice), I will place my hands lightly on different points along your torso.
As we come to the end of the session, we take a moment to notice how you feel compared to when you arrived. If appropriate, I may recommend follow-up sessions or offer you a simple meditation practice to support the shifts you’ve experienced during your IET® session.
